Recruitment

The following information should be useful to any would-be applicant.

About Us:

We are a small, casual raiding guild. We raid at our own pace and as such we can offer no promise of competitive progression. That said, we do take our raids seriously and expect you to do the same. We are a mature bunch, and as such we are only interested in recruiting people over 18. Most of us have families and other commitments and have no interest in logging in to deal with drama. We are currently looking for a few more like-minded players to join our crew.

We raid 10-mans Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 20:15 till around 23:00 Server Time.

We are currently working in ICC 10-man.

Every new person in the guild will enter a trial period of approx. one month; exact length is decided on a per-case basis.

Invite to Trial is never, ever made without a detailed discussion with fellow Officers and/or members (after the initial chat with you, which means not to expect any invite just after talking with us), during which time knowledge of the player as well as application is considered. You'll be told if you're getting a Trial or not within a few days. Promotion to Member happens if we feel you've settled in well after around a month, and is not chronological or relative to other applicants; if we're not sure, Trial time is extended; otherwise, you will be /gkicked after a chat so you know why we feel the relationship is unsuitable.

What we expect from you:

  • Most importantly, we are looking for players who are sociable. You will be joining an already established group of mates. We want people who will be on vent whether they are raiding or not, and who are friendly and chatty in Guild Chat. We will put this above anything else. You could be the worlds greatest player, but if the social side is lacking, you will be asked to move on.
  • We want people who will check the forums regularly, and who will be active on them.
  • You should have a genuine desire to learn how best to play the class and spec you have chosen, and be willing to consult the relevant websites that will enable you to maximise your efficiency
  • You should be open to friendly criticism and willing to learn. This doesn’t not mean that if you screw up you will be yelled at by any means, it’s a good environment where any problems are highlighted in a mature and friendly way.
  • You should be able to understand English, both verbal and written.
  • You should be aware of, and willing to adhere to our rules, all of which are outlined on our website.
  • We do not want people who are only motivated by loot. To plagiarise a recruitment post I saw a while ago, we want players who loot to progress, not progress to loot.

How To Apply

We take our recruitment very seriously. Read this website. If you're sure, do apply, because we'd love to hear from you. But if you're here for all the wrong reasons, try the official forums for a guild more suitable than ours.

(1) Read the information to the left of this page.

(2) Go read our rules.

(3) Check our recruitment forum for any up-to-date information on recruitment status. Read the other forums whilst you're there, they're almost all public access because we believe our tone should be publicly visible.

(4) Finally, decide if you like the cut of our gib and if you think you'd fit in. If you do, register on the forum and post a recruitment application in our Joining The Family section. We don't have a set template, we want to judge the information you provide and the manner in which it is presented.

(5) You will be contacted at a mutually convenient time by one of our Recruitment Officers for a chat, usually within a week.
